"This is it"

SO, I've definitely yet to see the movie, but I've heard some pretty positive things soo far. I Love M.J. (as we all do) but I was skeptical of all this constant selling of Mike as soon as the casket dropped, seemed a lil opportunistic. though I've held out on seeing it soo far, I may go and support the already insurmountable legacy by seeing the movie. but if you seen it and you think its good, or bad.. let us know.

Ra Ra Riot (Oh La)! Video AT my House

SO!, if I were ever to do a RAP video in my house I'd want it to be similar to this, the band: "Ra Ra Riot" an alternative rock band, captured some definately important aspects in this video. Overcoming the Death of friend and fellow drummer John Pike in 2006, this band has been striving and pulling through each adversity. wether your a rock fan or not... they performed with live instruments, live vocals and no back track (which is highly respectable). This Band has been opening up for acts like "Death Cab for Cutie" "Tokyo Police" and even appeared on David Letterman SHow, I think this song remings me of Some Phil Collins Genesis type shit...but the dope thing is he says "ohh laaa, we got a lot to learn from each other, we have GOT TO SLEEP Together".,,.. good in my book.

Who killed the Electric Car?

Well, I'm sure that many of you may be familiar with this, but those who aren't this is the trailer to the movie called "Who killed the Electric Car" it talks about how in 1996, there were electric cars across California the cost to run the car was about 60 cents per gallon (though it was PURELY electric).  The trailer does a good job of telling of how GM and the heads of all the oil companies know that they make too much money on inefficient fuels.  I think the actual video is worth a see, so hopefully you draft your own thoughts and conclusions about it.. check it out..

I interrupt APA Month with "U gotta Love It"-Nas

Well I interrupt the Asian Pacific American month with some black musical snapping  ass Rapping, this is a cut from Nas' Classic album "The lost tapes" undoubtedly his top four album and highly underrated and possibly due to being under viewed, seeing as how it came out in between "Stillmatic" and "God Son" this entire album rides with him spitting like no other as usual,  but the manner in which he approaches each song on the album is reflected by this very song. so If you dig it, make sure you itune or youtube a couple more of the trax from the album like: "No Ideas Original" "Purple" and "Doo rags". Nas kills it in this one with "U gotta Love it"-Nas

Paprika and Susuma Hirasawa; Beserk as well??

So this was like my first time hearing Japanese music that sounded like Opera. its pretty artsy though. I had the overwhelming opportunity to see this anime myself the name of which is PaPrika, I believe done by the same director who created Paranoia Agent. the Movie was really good, almost like AKIRA 1.5, but this guys music just stuck in my head the entire time. the thing that was most impressive about this particular musician (Susuma Hirasawa) was throughout the film he had like 5 different versions of the same song. Reminded me of how in Hip-Hop we do remixes and Blends so he accomplished this well, this was just one version truthfully but be sure to check out "Lounge" and "Parade" other variations of this exact same song.(Susuma Hirasawa also did the music for the famous Anime/Manga "Beserk")

THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOOO the legendary CL SMOOTH (known mostly from his smash hit "I Reminesce over you T.R.O.Y. w/ Pete rock.) comes back after over a decade with some HOT HEAT with J producers THE NUJABES, .. the Nujabes are an incredibly talented group with some hot heat, obviously inspired by the VERY ERA CL SMOOTH was brought up and created. this symbiosis of Lyric and Music fits nearly perfect. The Nujabes also Exclusively produced the music for the Anime Samurai Champloo which visuals can only be matched by the sheer diverse and immersive music of the Nujabes. the horns in this joint are pretty cool soothing, soo check out ya man.. hip-hop and animelovers CL SMOOTH F. NUJABES "The SKY IS FALLING"

The Pillows

Well hard as a pillow?? hmm, found this video of this band "The Pillows" seems like they found a way to do some songs exclusively for this popular mini series-Fooley Cooley (or FLCL), though its in a whole nother language I definately enjoy it, maybe its because I dug the actual show the clipse came from either way, I think the song is worth a listen.. maybe you hear a dope Guitar line, or SAMPLE hip hop heads???, but check it out "the Pillows" with- "Last Dinosaur"

Monty Oum's Dead Fantasy

This is what happens when fans create media about video games. Just imagine if there was a movie like this. Even if you're not a fan of D.O.A. or Final Fantasy, you can still enjoy the awesome choreography in this clip.

Yo Gotti - 5 star chick remix ft. Gucci mane, Trina, and Nicki Minaj

Been waitin on the video or this ever since I first saw the behind the scenes footage. Make sure you peep out a grill free gucci. I think somebody's trying to get a little bit closer to that corporate money. Yo Gotti's "yo mtv raps" chain is sick, and trina looks good as usual. A lot of rapper's keep sayin they're Martians and weirdos and what not, but Nicki's the only one proving it so far.

Bobby Creekwater @A3C Festival

Here's Bobby's performance at A3C in East Atlanta. Once again props to backstage pass for holdin it down with the footage.

NAS Attacked by CNN, in lieu of Positivity

So Why is it EVERY TIME something negative happens.. with violence, a Rapper attempts to do something positive and Media outlets use it as a Chance to PROVE that RAP has destroyed our youth, when its been being Corrupted and Abused since the creation of this country and the Induction of Drugs in our community (via CIA site). Nas is one of my Favorite Artist of all time, from "New York State of mind" to "One Mic", "doo rags" , "Dreaming", "Thats what they want" and "NAs is like." An artist of many talents, so enters THIS video. Cnn hankerchief head Attempts to find a NAS song I"VE NEVER HEARD, that WAS NOWHERE NEAR POPULAR, but HANDS DOWN HIS MOST VIOLENT. The reason this is important because This Particular song (i'd say) is nowhere in the Vain of his Music as a whole, the only song I've heard like this really. So the MEDIA takes its grand opportunity to try to Paint this Picture of him for Viewers who may not Know him to TRY to establish some form of Hypocracy in what he says, and Contradiction. THE MEDIA always has this NEGATIVE agenda Against these RAP artist anytime they SPEAK out. So I'm HERE to tell YOU don't believe the HYPE, he made that song TRUE, but 98% of this Artist music has been positive, Uplifting and down right though provoking, so DAMN the Hankerchief head on this show who tried to tear the man down when speaking about the CHICAGO Tragedy.

Magic Johnson Theatre to close it's doors Sunday, Oct 11.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution the Magic Johnson Theatre at Greenbriar mall will be showing it's last movie on Sunday Oct. 11. Even though the theater still bears Magic Johnson's name it's owned by AMC who states the reason for the closure is that the theater has been underperforming. After Making no comment as to whether or not the employees at greenbriar will be offered jobs at other AMC establishments, the owners went as far as to assert that they have two other properties in "that vicinity". One at the Southake AMC 24, and another at AMC Parkway Pointe 15. Now I don't know If y'all have ever been to Atlanta, but anyone who's from here knows that Southlake mall, and Cobb Parkway aren't ANYWHERE NEAR being in the "same vicinity" as Greenbriar. They're not even on the same side of town. Anyone who's from Atlanta also knows that outside of The Mall at West End Greenbriar is in the most overwhelmingly black community of all the malls in the metro area.
When Magic Johnson originally opened up the theatre it was news not only because of the mass of the complex, and it;s state of the art features, but because of the location such a well furnished establishment was being erected at. Now 13 years later it's being closed due to underperformance. I say this to you Black people. We always complain about not having anything in our area, but when we finally get something good we fail to support it. Until we learn to support black businesses and build them up As opposed to tearing them down, we will forever to have to drive to cobb pkwy or southlake to see a movie in "our vicinity". We've got to do better. To get the unbiased story from the AJC click here

We Here Now Ft.-A Gang of Bubbling Atlanta Rappers-(ATL Wu Tang?)

ET Da Sandman just linked to this video from his twitter page. I decided to post it to the blog, because the fact that they were able to pull off a track with this many features on it and shoot a GOOD video for it is a feat in itself. the guest list includes Waka Flocka Flames, L.A. Da Boomman, Sean Teezy, Mz. Goham, Yung Envy, and a host of others you may or may not have heard of, depending on how hard you have your ear to the streets. Other coasts take this as a lesson in teamwork. ATLANTA ARTISTS WORK TOGETHER! That's why every time you look around there's somebody new poppin up on the radio. It's because we put each other on.

Rellik Rebel vs. Rod at A3C

Girls rock too - Na'Tee

Na'Tee is an artist that I've known about for a while. I've basically just been waiting for somebody to sign her, so she can get the proper production, and push she deserves. She's a New Orleans native that can spit with the best of the guys, and I think she makes Nicki sound like sesame street. However I'm still a fan of the latter, even though I can't tell you one original song she's put out. How does that happen? Anyways check Na'tee's myspace Here and hit the jump for more videos featuring the Nola Diva.
