Ichigo (resureccion) vs. Ulquiorra

Not sure If you guys are into anime as much as I am, but this is kind of a big deal. As a loyal follower of both the Bleach manga and anime series I've been waiting faithfully for this footage to be released. I was thinking I would have to wait indefinitely, as the Bleach anime is showing filler episodes with no end in sight. I'm guessing the powers that be in the Bleach universe could feel the anxiety building and deicided to give us a sneak peek. As a result this footage was included with the japanese release of "Soul Carnival 2" for PSP. Enjoy .

Merry Christmas, from your douchebag parents

Not sure how old this vid is, but I found it today, and I thought it was hilarious.

Girl stands up for the little guy and gets fired by big business

I happened upon this video on facebook the other day, and took the time to watch the whole thing. This young lady's story ended up being pretty interesting, so I decided I should share it with more people. The woman in the video talks about how she was one of Bank of America's best employees, but got fired for taking a stand against their predatory credit practices. while watching you should keep in mind that Bank of America now does business with about 50% of American Citizens.

Young Money- "Where's Wayne"

"Where is Wayne" is a Great attempt at conceptual lyrical expression. Young Money is definitely hot right now due to Drake, Minaj and Wayne, but on this song the other lesser known members get a chance to shine. Overall I think they deliver a good entertaining song, and its definately worth more than one listen. The best verse goes to Nikki Minaj, but Chuckee is a close second. So take a listen and see what you think about a song without WAYNE.

Travis Porter -Go shorty Go (video)

I knew this video was coming,  because I remember when they were shooting it at club obsessions a few weeks ago. With that considered it was a pretty quick turnaround by whoever was doing the editing. I've known about travy for a while, and just like I called that they were gonna blow, I'm telling you this song is gonna be running the clubs before it's warm again. For now just enjoy the video though.

What I'm watching now - Samurai Seven

Anyone who follows this blog site knows that Izrael and I are both adamant anime fans. Every now and again I like to do a post about the latest series that's caught my eye. This week's dose of distraction was "Samurai Seven", an animated take on Akira Kurosawa's classic film "Seven Samurai". The Film version was so popular it influenced the nearly direct western translation  "Magnificent Seven". The show does a good job of breathing new life into a story with an audience that already knows the innards of the plot. To shake things up a bit, the medieval setting is given steampunk elements. This alteration allows for the "bandits" to be replaced with what can best be described as Mobile suits to fans of Gundam lore. The visuals of magnificent samurai using mere katana blades to take down whole battleships is upgraded to the heroes now shearing through metal frames like tin foil. The addition of a completely mechanized samurai, and an extended plot involving some kind of crazy clone fiasco make this a good watch for fans of the original movie or next generation ronin enthusiasts.

Rellik Rebel - Simon Illa Sessions EP

I've been waiting for the right time to do a post about myself, but since I just released a new project, I thought right now would be a fine time. the "Simon Illa Sessions" is a project from me and producer Simon Illa. Simon produced all three of the tracks in the project and I provided the vocals. truthfully this 3 song EP is probably some of my best work to date. You can Scoop it up on itunes here, for $2.97. not exactly free .99, but it shouldn't hurt your pockets too bad. until you get your money up the video below has a some quality sing snippets. Tracklist and album art after the jump.

Duke Gutta - "All I Know"

As an upcoming artist on the grind in the Atlanta area networking is a necessity. In all of my musical adventures I meet alot of artists. Some are good, and some are downright atrocious. Duke Gutta is the former. He's been grinding it out for a while. I've seen him battle with the best of them, and he's one of the few rappers from up top that's been able to transition his classic New England flow into a relevant sound that fits perfectly into today's southern dominated hip hop scene. "All I know" is one of his newer joints that I was just recently put up on.  Seeing as it was thoroughly jamming, I've decided to share it with you.

Cause of so called "Global Warming" is B.S.

So, This person being interviewed is trying to make excuses for the scientist who have been ADJUSTING AND ALTERING the facts in to say that "Global Warming" is being caused by Human Activity, as opposed to naturally. The interviewee discuses how there is so much money in "Going Green" its not a surprise that the scientist will be altering information to keep this Global agenda going. The person Interviewing says -is this a conspiracy-, dude says- an unconscious conspiracy-?? whatever, these people know what they're doing and there is too much at stake financially for them to turn back now, hence all the hacking and data altering. Just ask yourself, if its the truth..why alter it? unless you have your own agenda to fulfill, an esoteric agenda I might add.. check it out.

Odd Video.

OK Dude, now, I checked out this video, and I seriously thought it was one of the oddest videos I've ever seen. As a man I'm not mad at Beyonce at all, but I thought to myself, damn I hope no kid is watching this shittt..lol. As for Lady Gaga, I like her music and I think she is pretty cool, but she looks a bit outta place in the video. Someone said she might have had a nose job... Ehh, it's possible. I actually thought this video was HIGHLY random. Though the men with the cameras for heads was good conceptually. Anyways, check it out for yourselvesz and see what you think...

Three Six Mafia 91'

So, this is one of Three Six mafia's first mixtapes, released back in 91' I heard this back in like 2001, 10 years later. The Whole Cd (Three Six Mafia Underground Vol. 1 (smoked out music)) is filled with DJ cuts, and just pretty much jamming beats. There are a couple of Actual songs but many of them are similar to this. so I give you....

What I'm Watching Now - Ninja Scroll

Many of you have probably heard the name ninja scroll as it's one of the most popular Anime feature films in history. This post however, is about the 13 episode series of the same name. The show feature's the same protagonist as the movie, Jubei Kibagami, but the action is a little different. In my opinion The Ninja Scroll movie was dark, and brutal. The series feels more like a PG 13 saturday morning cartoon. The action Is good but it's not as graphic, and the story definitely has it's lighter moments. On the up side the series is a mere 13 episodes, so you can breeze through it in no time. If you're looking for a direct sequel to the Ninja Scroll movie this may not tickle your fancy, but fans of the genre can still enjoy it. I say just watch this and keep your fingers crossed that sequel may justcome sooner than you think...

J. Futuristic Na Na Na ft Yung L.A. and Roscoe Dash

I had to do this post for my Folk DJ Guam. What's good boy? Apparently J. Futuristic, formerly known as J. Money, and Yung L.A. are doing a mixtape together called Superhero Language. This is one of the leaks from that project. It's Featuring Roscoe Dash, who's responsible for one of the biggest songs in the city right
now, "All The Way Turnt Up". Enjoy

Assassin's Creed II. The Movie?

As of late YouTube has been doing a lot of interesting things to remain the premiere video upload site. One of the sites latest ploys to gain attention is Assassin's Creed Lineage, a three part featurette that serves as a prequel to the new Assassin' Creed video Game. The short film featues an original plot and lots of computer generated scenery. If you're a fan of the games you should most definitely check this out. If not, a couple of guys get killed in there so that's pretty cool I guess. The version of the Video that I've included below is actually the compounded version with all three parts in one reel. Enjoy.

1924- Walt Disney created. 2009- Black princess: For the Shortyz.

I

I, (as usual) am HIGHLY skeptical about the way in which this movie will be done, Unfortunately, I don't have many supporting details as to why it is a Coon film, except the Light bug, that sounds like bubba gump, but that still isn't enough evidence. Disney was created in 1924, and finally the young girls have a fairy tale character they really can relate to, opposed to some jamaican Crab. I sincerely HOPE that this movie is done in good taste, but as for now, the trailer looks cool, and it actually is interesting, so I wish the movie well, hopefully I won't have to write a RE-DO review. but check out the trailer, kinda funny.

Why you can't go back to the hood -Young Dro-

Don't know why i'm just now finding this, but I"m happy as hell I did. Check out Young Dro telling the story about how he ALMOST got robbed in bankhead.

"The Devil's been working...Through Britney Spears?

Now I believe in freedom of expression just as much as the next guy. Normally a song about threesomes wouldn't be that bad, But when you start to make biblical references It should raise a few eyebrows. I've always known that the music industry is filled ungodly practices, after all I believe satan's place in heaven was as the choir director. I just never believed super christian country girl Britney Spears would be letting the devil use her like this. Her New song "3" an ode to the menage a trois had one line that particularly caught my ear. the chorus of the song says "living in sin is the new thing". That's when I started listening closer and realized that there's another part that says "Peter, Paul, and Mary getting down with 3p". Really? What Peter, Paul, and Mary do y'all think she's alluding to? Because the one's I know about are in the bible...Smh...  Hit the jump for the complete lyrics to the song with the troublesome parts highlighted.

Nujabes remix' Five Deez-Latitude hip-hop

The Nujabes a team of producers who seem to be from Japan, they have done a lot for the Show "Samurai Champloo" sonically, and this song is no exception. The Nujabes re-do a song by a group called the Five Deez. To appreciate the feel of this song, (I think) would be to hear the original, but the vibe they added to this song is unmatched. The song is just really smooth and gives that good Hip-Hop vibe. The Nujabes are extremely talented and you should take a listen to em' here.

Prince of Persia + Disney Budget =Good video game movie?

Disney's been busy with their license acquiring. After buying out Marvel Comics, the media giant secured the rights to the english version of Naruto Shippuden. As proof of their new edgy teen themed agenda the house of mouse recently released this trailer for the new PoP movie. Maybe somebody finally get this whole video game to movie thing right

"This is it"

SO, I've definitely yet to see the movie, but I've heard some pretty positive things soo far. I Love M.J. (as we all do) but I was skeptical of all this constant selling of Mike as soon as the casket dropped, seemed a lil opportunistic. though I've held out on seeing it soo far, I may go and support the already insurmountable legacy by seeing the movie. but if you seen it and you think its good, or bad.. let us know.

Ra Ra Riot (Oh La)! Video AT my House

SO!, if I were ever to do a RAP video in my house I'd want it to be similar to this, the band: "Ra Ra Riot" an alternative rock band, captured some definately important aspects in this video. Overcoming the Death of friend and fellow drummer John Pike in 2006, this band has been striving and pulling through each adversity. wether your a rock fan or not... they performed with live instruments, live vocals and no back track (which is highly respectable). This Band has been opening up for acts like "Death Cab for Cutie" "Tokyo Police" and even appeared on David Letterman SHow, I think this song remings me of Some Phil Collins Genesis type shit...but the dope thing is he says "ohh laaa, we got a lot to learn from each other, we have GOT TO SLEEP Together".,,.. good in my book.

Who killed the Electric Car?

Well, I'm sure that many of you may be familiar with this, but those who aren't this is the trailer to the movie called "Who killed the Electric Car" it talks about how in 1996, there were electric cars across California the cost to run the car was about 60 cents per gallon (though it was PURELY electric).  The trailer does a good job of telling of how GM and the heads of all the oil companies know that they make too much money on inefficient fuels.  I think the actual video is worth a see, so hopefully you draft your own thoughts and conclusions about it.. check it out..

I interrupt APA Month with "U gotta Love It"-Nas

Well I interrupt the Asian Pacific American month with some black musical snapping  ass Rapping, this is a cut from Nas' Classic album "The lost tapes" undoubtedly his top four album and highly underrated and possibly due to being under viewed, seeing as how it came out in between "Stillmatic" and "God Son" this entire album rides with him spitting like no other as usual,  but the manner in which he approaches each song on the album is reflected by this very song. so If you dig it, make sure you itune or youtube a couple more of the trax from the album like: "No Ideas Original" "Purple" and "Doo rags". Nas kills it in this one with "U gotta Love it"-Nas

Paprika and Susuma Hirasawa; Beserk as well??

So this was like my first time hearing Japanese music that sounded like Opera. its pretty artsy though. I had the overwhelming opportunity to see this anime myself the name of which is PaPrika, I believe done by the same director who created Paranoia Agent. the Movie was really good, almost like AKIRA 1.5, but this guys music just stuck in my head the entire time. the thing that was most impressive about this particular musician (Susuma Hirasawa) was throughout the film he had like 5 different versions of the same song. Reminded me of how in Hip-Hop we do remixes and Blends so he accomplished this well, this was just one version truthfully but be sure to check out "Lounge" and "Parade" other variations of this exact same song.(Susuma Hirasawa also did the music for the famous Anime/Manga "Beserk")

THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOOO the legendary CL SMOOTH (known mostly from his smash hit "I Reminesce over you T.R.O.Y. w/ Pete rock.) comes back after over a decade with some HOT HEAT with J producers THE NUJABES, .. the Nujabes are an incredibly talented group with some hot heat, obviously inspired by the VERY ERA CL SMOOTH was brought up and created. this symbiosis of Lyric and Music fits nearly perfect. The Nujabes also Exclusively produced the music for the Anime Samurai Champloo which visuals can only be matched by the sheer diverse and immersive music of the Nujabes. the horns in this joint are pretty cool soothing, soo check out ya man.. hip-hop and animelovers CL SMOOTH F. NUJABES "The SKY IS FALLING"

The Pillows

Well hard as a pillow?? hmm, found this video of this band "The Pillows" seems like they found a way to do some songs exclusively for this popular mini series-Fooley Cooley (or FLCL), though its in a whole nother language I definately enjoy it, maybe its because I dug the actual show the clipse came from either way, I think the song is worth a listen.. maybe you hear a dope Guitar line, or SAMPLE hip hop heads???, but check it out "the Pillows" with- "Last Dinosaur"

Yo Gotti - 5 star chick remix ft. Gucci mane, Trina, and Nicki Minaj

Been waitin on the video or this ever since I first saw the behind the scenes footage. Make sure you peep out a grill free gucci. I think somebody's trying to get a little bit closer to that corporate money. Yo Gotti's "yo mtv raps" chain is sick, and trina looks good as usual. A lot of rapper's keep sayin they're Martians and weirdos and what not, but Nicki's the only one proving it so far.

NAS Attacked by CNN, in lieu of Positivity

So Why is it EVERY TIME something negative happens.. with violence, a Rapper attempts to do something positive and Media outlets use it as a Chance to PROVE that RAP has destroyed our youth, when its been being Corrupted and Abused since the creation of this country and the Induction of Drugs in our community (via CIA site). Nas is one of my Favorite Artist of all time, from "New York State of mind" to "One Mic", "doo rags" , "Dreaming", "Thats what they want" and "NAs is like." An artist of many talents, so enters THIS video. Cnn hankerchief head Attempts to find a NAS song I"VE NEVER HEARD, that WAS NOWHERE NEAR POPULAR, but HANDS DOWN HIS MOST VIOLENT. The reason this is important because This Particular song (i'd say) is nowhere in the Vain of his Music as a whole, the only song I've heard like this really. So the MEDIA takes its grand opportunity to try to Paint this Picture of him for Viewers who may not Know him to TRY to establish some form of Hypocracy in what he says, and Contradiction. THE MEDIA always has this NEGATIVE agenda Against these RAP artist anytime they SPEAK out. So I'm HERE to tell YOU don't believe the HYPE, he made that song TRUE, but 98% of this Artist music has been positive, Uplifting and down right though provoking, so DAMN the Hankerchief head on this show who tried to tear the man down when speaking about the CHICAGO Tragedy.

Magic Johnson Theatre to close it's doors Sunday, Oct 11.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution the Magic Johnson Theatre at Greenbriar mall will be showing it's last movie on Sunday Oct. 11. Even though the theater still bears Magic Johnson's name it's owned by AMC who states the reason for the closure is that the theater has been underperforming. After Making no comment as to whether or not the employees at greenbriar will be offered jobs at other AMC establishments, the owners went as far as to assert that they have two other properties in "that vicinity". One at the Southake AMC 24, and another at AMC Parkway Pointe 15. Now I don't know If y'all have ever been to Atlanta, but anyone who's from here knows that Southlake mall, and Cobb Parkway aren't ANYWHERE NEAR being in the "same vicinity" as Greenbriar. They're not even on the same side of town. Anyone who's from Atlanta also knows that outside of The Mall at West End Greenbriar is in the most overwhelmingly black community of all the malls in the metro area.
When Magic Johnson originally opened up the theatre it was news not only because of the mass of the complex, and it;s state of the art features, but because of the location such a well furnished establishment was being erected at. Now 13 years later it's being closed due to underperformance. I say this to you Black people. We always complain about not having anything in our area, but when we finally get something good we fail to support it. Until we learn to support black businesses and build them up As opposed to tearing them down, we will forever to have to drive to cobb pkwy or southlake to see a movie in "our vicinity". We've got to do better. To get the unbiased story from the AJC click here

We Here Now Ft.-A Gang of Bubbling Atlanta Rappers-(ATL Wu Tang?)

ET Da Sandman just linked to this video from his twitter page. I decided to post it to the blog, because the fact that they were able to pull off a track with this many features on it and shoot a GOOD video for it is a feat in itself. the guest list includes Waka Flocka Flames, L.A. Da Boomman, Sean Teezy, Mz. Goham, Yung Envy, and a host of others you may or may not have heard of, depending on how hard you have your ear to the streets. Other coasts take this as a lesson in teamwork. ATLANTA ARTISTS WORK TOGETHER! That's why every time you look around there's somebody new poppin up on the radio. It's because we put each other on.

Rellik Rebel vs. Rod at A3C

I told y'all I was finna be everywhere. Well here's my 1st official Grindtime battle. It when down at the A3C festival that was held in east Atlanta this past weekend. We went back and forth for a whils, but it was a promo battle so it wasn't judged. Enjoy

Girls rock too - Na'Tee

Na'Tee is an artist that I've known about for a while. I've basically just been waiting for somebody to sign her, so she can get the proper production, and push she deserves. She's a New Orleans native that can spit with the best of the guys, and I think she makes Nicki sound like sesame street. However I'm still a fan of the latter, even though I can't tell you one original song she's put out. How does that happen? Anyways check Na'tee's myspace Here and hit the jump for more videos featuring the Nola Diva.

RonPaul Keeping it REAL ON ISRAEL...

The ALL POWERFUL Ron  Paul takes a stand and Congress to let these cock blowers know that the resolutions their tryna pass are a bunch of panty waiste bull shit won't benifit our country. He usually is the opposition in the REPUBLICAN party but in my opinion one of the last true Americans left..sooo lets take a Gander shall weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

What I'm watching now- Ultimate Survivor Kaiji

As you may or may not have noticed, me and Izrael are big fans of anime. Due to my short attention span I'm constantly trying to find new shows to keep me entertained. As a result, I probably start watching about two or three new series' a month. Some are good, some are bad, and some stuff is just weird. Every now and then I'll find a gem that I just can't turn my eyes away from, and these are the shows that I'll be telling you guys about.
This weeks's pick is a gambling anime called "Kaiji", also known as "Ultimate Survivor Kaiji". The show follows the life of a regular guy who's down on his luck. The titular character spends his days vandalizing the fancy import cars of the rich, as a way to cope with his own unfortunate situation. One fateful day he is met by a powerful yakuza with an interesting proposition, which Kaiji is led to believe he has no choice but to accept. This is all the 1st episode mind you. Through out the rest of the series the program uses a variety of gambling backdrops to explore the human condition, as Kaiji's trail is fraught with instances of betrayal and oppurtunities for nobility.

END OF CAPITALISM?? "MIchael Moore talks to LARRY.

Film-maker Michael Moore is known for his controversial movies such as Bowling for Columbine, Fahrenheit 911, Sicko, and now Capitalism a love story. He is usually met with much criticism from the "big wigs," as he continues head strong with a "prove me wrong" attitude. He usually brings many valid questions that I believe the American people want answered.

-Wow, Really?- Guys in costumes that Really transform

My bad habit of scouring the internets for awkward entertainment has struck again. Somehow I found this video of guys cosplaying in transformers costumes that really transform. You gotta see it for your self! So many questions arise from this video though.

Fatt Mann-Mama Whip

I found this video while I was searching the internets. I've heard of this guy before and even met him at a few events around the city. It's good to see the real Atlanta artists putting out music. Check this one out. He "keeps it real," as so many of you rap fans say an artist should, but he's still pretty solid on the lyrics. Hell, there's even a bit of humor here.

Sean Falyon- "Inside Her."(prod SMKA)

I first heard of this cat when he performed at Apache cafe on one of the nights I was there for the open mic. Seems like ever since then his name's been poppin up with increasing frequency. That alone tells you he's been on his grind. Here are the visuals for "Inside Her", one of the songs off his latest project "Mr. Falyon meets SMKA". Besides just holdin him down cuz he's also apart of the Atl underground, I really enjoy the video. It's one of those artsy fartsy joints, but in a good way.

Ma$e went with Double Up. KFC chose to Double Down

I originally heard about this a while ago, but I just got reminded of it today By a friend of mine. Many of you may have seen the boondocks episode where grand dad fattens up the townspeople with his addictive "luther" sandwich. It is a wonderful burger in which buns are replaced by two Krispy Kreme donuts. Well seems like those creative minds over at KFC were watching that same episode because they've been testing out a new sandwich called the "Double Down" a sandwich where the buns are swapped out for two pieces of fried chicken. The inside of the sandwich is composed of two slices of bacon covered in two different types of cheeses. Is this the future of fast food as we know it?

He's just a NIG--uh, a socialist...YEAH! He's just a SOCIALIST!

YOU LIE!
In yet another act of tom foolery South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson blurted out "You lie" during the middle of Obama's speech about health care reform last night. Come on folks, How long will this continue. Check out the footage the AP has of the aforementioned foolishness after the jump

iGame Review: Batman: Arkham Asylum

I was recently able to get my hands on this and play through it a couple of weeks ago. As a fan of Batman and the DC universe in general, I expected to have hard criticism. On the contrast the game turned out to be pretty good. The opening sequence of the game looks brilliant thanks to those wonderful next gen graphics, and the voice acting is truly enjoyable. Due to the fact that key members of the cast from the batman animated series popular in the 90's reprise their roles for it's digital counterpart. Overall the gameplay is on point, and the way the mission's are structured really give the player a feel for what it might be like to run around Arkham as the dark knight. Sprinkle in some creative reinterpretations of Batman's greatest foes, and some stealth henchmen eliminating and we've got a winner folks. Hit the jump for a video and a more in depth review

when twitter goes wrong

Yesterday we saw a classic case of social networking causing an artist to act against their better judgement. In an entertaining case of mistaken identity Fabolous started sending out hostile posts about T-Pain after "anti-fab" tweets were made from a fake T-pain twitter account. As an active member of the twitter community I was able to watch all of this transpire first hand. Luckily, before too much collaboration preventing damage was done, Fabolous realized that the belligerent tweets came from a fake account. After which he proceeded to rescind his previous statements.
Interestingly enough only two days before T-pain actually did diss another New York based artist, rapper Jay Z. Footage of that Fiasco can be seen here

At the end of the day, the burning question still remains. "Can't we all just get along?"

14th street bridge

Tomorrow morning the 14th street bridge will be re-opened. its been nearly an entire year of my taxes going to this damn bridge and I'm finally elated to see it come to fruition. I plan on driving up the damn thing just cause its open, let my tires meet with the hot asphalt from a post sun morning. What this has to do with me and Music is unknown to me, BUT I will say I thought they closed it at first to stop the poor people from walking further into the city..lol, but aside from the Gentrification of Atlanta I'm glad to see it back to normal.
